The 3rd International Conference «Genetics of aging and longevity» will take place 06-10 April, 2014 in Sochi, the city located on the Black Sea coast and the Capital of the XXII Olympic Winter Games and XI Paralympic Winter Games in 2014. Top gerontologists and geneticists from 31 countries around the world will discuss the current problems in many areas related to the genetics of longevity and aging mechanisms. This book provides a collection of abstracts of the talks, reports and experimental outcomes including the most important topics in aging research: screening for longevity genes in model organisms and humans, identifi- cation of genetic and epigenetic mechanisms of aging, ecological genetics of aging, regenerative medicine and stem cell research, meta-analysis and bioinformatics approaches in the field of molecular gerontology. The main goals of the conference are to summarize current knowledge on mechanisms of aging and longevity, and on anti-aging methods; to stimulate international collaborations; to put investors in touch with leading experts in the field of aging and longevity and to promote private initiatives and foundations in the field of radical life extension.
